World-Class Audio Conferencing Capabilities from Bose Professional at Minto Hall



“We take pride in telling the world that the heritage Minto Hall has been converted into a first-class international standard convention centre. We have successfully converted a 100 year-old heritage building into a world-class convention centre, ensuring that it did not lose its heritage character while equipping it with ultra-modern conferencing amenities. We are proud of the rich heritage that has been conserved” quoted Hari Ranjan Rao, Principal Secretary of MP Tourism as he refers to the state-of-the-art conferencing capabilities at the newly renovated Minto Hall in Bhopal, which has been made possible thanks to leading-edge and future-ready solutions from Bose Professional.

“Minto Hall’s restoration plans included provisions for conferencing where patrons would be welcomed to use the premise’s world-class facilities. Reviewing the site plan; it was clear that each of the seminar rooms, board room and committee room would need their own dedicated audio infrastructure. The venue’s management were clear that they desired a bespoke audio solution that’s easy-to-use, quick to setup and low on maintenance; and that could be perfectly tailored to the respective room’s physical dimensions and aesthetics with the assurance of a high-quality audio experience. Bose Professional was the obvious choice considering the brand’s wide portfolio of technologically advanced products perfectly fit the project’s needs” reveals Aparjit Dhamija of Fortune Telecom, the project’s official audio consultant.

The integration team comprising members from Fortune Telecom and technical experts from Bose Professional worked closely on guidelines shared by venue management and the project’s principal architect Puneet Sohal, and eventually narrowed down on the perfect combination of products to suit each of the individual spaces.

The Committee Room and Board Room have been outfitted with an amalgam of loudspeakers, amplifiers and controllers from the FreeSpace and ControlSpace series of products which have been acclaimed across the globe for their dexterity and efficiency in performance value and power-output. Multiple units of the compact and powerful DS40F in-ceiling speakers provide uniform coverage and intelligibility throughout the Committee Room which features a lavish square conferencing table that holds a total capacity of 24 seated delegates and sports a slew of 12 gooseneck microphone units along with a single hand-held wireless microphone, all of which facilitate high-quality audio and speech pick-up. Processing and system management here takes place through a single unit of the EX-1280C AEC capable DSP along with a single unit of the EX-8ML 8-channel Dante based DSP Input expander, while the power is derived from a single unit of the powerful and efficient PS604A amplifier from the PowerShare series. On the other hand, the Board Room featuring a plush 15-seater rectangular conference table with 9 gooseneck microphones and 1 hand-held wireless mic as the audio pick-up solution, sports the use of multiple numbers of the DS40F in-ceiling speaker units as the loudspeaker solution that assures high quality intelligibility, controlled through the efficient ESP-1240 audio DSP and powered by the nimble iZA 190HZ mixer amplifier.

SEMINAR Room

Alongside, the two seminar rooms leverage Bose’ dexterous portfolio of products from the acclaimed Panaray series, with each of the rooms boasting astute individual systems that have been designed to be aesthetically appealing and capably host seminars, meetings, as well as intimate scale music playback. The first room features a loudspeaker setup comprising the 402 series IV loudspeakers along with 502B subwoofers as the primary system with added reinforcement in the form of 310M monitor-speakers, all of which are powered through the ever efficient PowerMatch series PM8500 amplifiers. The second room has been outfitted with the MA12EX column array loudspeakers along with F1 series subwoofers as the primary system, while the 310M monitor-speakers provide further reinforcement, with the entire system powered through PowerMatch series PM8250 amplifiers. Using an amalgam of loudspeaker from the Panaray series across both meeting rooms empowered the technical team to ensure a uniform aural experience that maintains consistent tonal signature and balance, which delivering high performance output that adequately suffices the respective room requirements.


Minto Hall auditorium’s system consists of Left-Right asymmetrical RoomMatch arrays, with the left array comprising RM602810, RM602820, and RM602840 modules, while the right array comprises RM286010, RM286020, and RM286040 modules

Restoration of the Minto Hall, which was initiated by the state, has witnessed a plethora of improvements being added to each of the individual sections of the property, including the main hall, which now stands are the primary convention space, outfitted with an avant-garde audio system featuring the revolutionary RoomMatch loudspeakers, PowerMatch amplifiers and ControlSpace processors to facilitate a wide range of MICE activities.  In addition to this, five other spaces of varying capacities and specific application purposes that are spread across the three floors of the premise’ expanse feature a range of install specific products from the acclaimed FreeSpace and ControlSpace series.

Feedback from the venue’s official representatives including Mr Bhardwaj and several others affirms that the sound experience at the new-look Minto Hall has been beyond impressive. Sources confirm audiences including the high-profile delegates and political leaders who visited the premise during its inauguration, were extremely impressed with the sights and sounds experienced across the entire premise. The honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who inaugurated the revamped Minto Hall, termed the restoration as an ‘incredible intervention and an example for restoration of heritage’, and exclaimed about the experience of the rejuvenated ambience saying, “Bhopal should feel proud about the intervention.”
