A glimpse of India’s first Canare Certified SMPTE Assembly Facility established by COMCON

Published on 25th November 2025

“Maturity is not about slowing down – it’s about scaling new heights with wisdom,” reflects Gaurav Aggarwal, Director of Comcon Technologies Ltd, as the company celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. “2025 is a defining chapter in Comcon’s journey, one that reaffirms our legacy of engineering brilliance, strategic foresight, and our enduring partnership with the industries we serve.”

Comcon Technologies Ltd is a distinguished name in test & measurement, professional audio-video, broadcast, and connectivity solutions in India. For over four decades, the company has empowered clients nationwide with a wide gamut of cutting-edge innovations from the world’s leading manufacturers; backed by robust system integration, bespoke technical services, and exceptional in-house engineering expertise. This enduring commitment to innovation, reliability, and technical excellence has cemented Comcon’s position and legacy as India’s most trusted technology and engineering partner.

As the official distribution partner in India for globally acclaimed brands such as Neutrik, Lawo, Sonifex, Optocore, Multidyne, Audio Precision, GRAS Acoustics, Teledyne Lecroy, and more; Comcon has been instrumental in driving the adoption and success of these technologies across broadcast, professional AV, live sound, telecommunications, and defence sectors. And thanks to its nationwide network, deep industry relationships, and a technically proficient team – Comcon continues to bridge global innovation with Indian expertise, ensuring that every client benefits from the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

Forging Stronger Global Partnerships

In a year that underscored its unwavering pursuit of excellence, Comcon was appointed as the official distribution partner in India for two global leaders – Meinberg and Ferrofish – both recognised for their cutting-edge technologies in their respective domains.

Meinberg, renowned for its high-precision synchronisation solutions, offers PTP clocks, NTP servers, and satellite-based receivers trusted worldwide across mission-critical applications. Through Comcon, Meinberg’s 55 years of expertise in sync technologies will be available to the Indian market – including the microSync family of dual-port PTP generators that support SMPTE ST 2059-2 for broadcast applications, and the IMS HPS100 platform which combines IEEE-1588/PTP, SyncE and hardware NTP interfaces for carrier-grade infrastructures. These solutions address the full spectrum of timing-needs across networked broadcast, live-event, ProAV, data-centre and military / defence deployments, enabling Indian users to deploy globally benchmarked precision-timing systems with confidence.

Meanwhile, through Comcon, Ferrofish will continue to revolutionise professional and broadcast audio converters with its versatile, high-performance products serving live sound, music production, broadcast, and government applications. These partnerships not only expand Comcon’s portfolio but also reflect its strategic vision to bring globally benchmarked technologies to Indian professionals.

Pioneering the Canare Certified SMPTE Lab

In another major milestone, Comcon proudly launched India’s first Canare Certified SMPTE Assembly Facility, a pioneering initiative that empowers customers with locally available, high-quality SMPTE assemblies and repair services.

The certification was awarded following rigorous training and evaluation by the Canare Japan engineering team, validating Comcon’s precision engineering capabilities and quality assurance standards. The facility significantly reduces turnaround time for broadcast SMPTE assemblies and is poised to expand its services into other industries, including ProAV.

Commanding Presence Across India’s Leading Industry Exhibitions

Comcon’s strong presence was felt across India’s most prominent trade events — PALM Expo 2025, InfoComm India 2025, and Broadcast India 2025— each reinforcing the company’s leadership, its enduring relationships with global technology brands, and its intent to stay closely connected with the market at large. These exhibitions not only reaffirmed Comcon’s role as a trusted link between global innovation and Indian expertise, but also celebrated the strong bond of the trust, commitment and collaborative synergy that Comcon has shared with its long-standing partner brands like Neutrik, Lawo, and Multidyne, among several others.

At the recently concluded Broadcast India 2025 show in particular, the Comcon booth was abuzz with excitement as it hosted an impressive lineup of advanced solutions, including:

India’s first showcase of Lawo’s mc²56 Audio Production Console – a large-format, high-capacity system built for uncompromising performance across sports production, large venue audio, and rental AV. The mc² series of consoles from Lawo stand as a global benchmark in audio production – trusted for sports broadcasting, large-scale venues, and by leading artists worldwide. The mc²56 supports staggering networking power with up to 8,192 × 8,192 cross-points and up to 1,024 DSP channels, while fully embracing IP-native infrastructures by supporting SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, RAVENNA and Dante® protocols. Its compact design preserves Lawo-grade mic-preamps and I/O (including 16 Mic/Line inputs, MADI SFP, AES3 I/O and GPI/O) while bringing advanced features like LiveView thumbnail previews and multi-user IP workflows into live-event and broadcast-AV realms.

Neutrik’s Fiber Optic and IP Audio Range – featuring ruggedised, dust-resistant fibre assemblies for high-availability applications. Neutrik’s opticalCON and FIBERFOX fibre-optic solutions are engineered for extreme durability — featuring spring-loaded push–pull locking, aramid yarn cable retention and sealed dust-protected connectors designed for high-demand environments. Paired with Neutrik’s award-winning speakON and etherCON ranges, the fibre and IP audio lineup ensures clean, rugged connectivity from stage, to studio, to mobile rental setups.

Multidyne’s Video and Fiber Transport Solutions – offering an extensive selection of converters and multiplexers, engineered for broadcast and ProAV excellence. Multidyne delivers modular fibre-transport platforms such as the VB Series (12G/3G/HD-SDI, HDMI 2.0, Ethernet, timecode and intercom over one cable) that are purpose-built for OB trucks, fly-packs and fixed installs. Their converter, extender and signal-remapper systems (for example the SilverBack or FieldFiber ranges) enable seamless, low-latency transmission of audio, video and data across challenging live-event or broadcast environments — an ideal fit for Comcon’s rental AV, live event and broadcast clients.

The Broadcast India show also presented a platform to shine the spotlight on Gaurav’s thought-leadership. Sharing his wealth of knowledge on mastering the transition to essential fiber signal distribution at the show, Gaurav delivered an insightful presentation on the growing need for fiber optic solutions in broadcast production and contribution chain. During the technical seminar, he offered practical strategies to overcome bandwidth limitations and future-proof broadcast infrastructures – methodically outlining the immediate advantages and deployment methods for integrating high-speed, reliable fibre technology across diverse workflows. In tow, he also highlighted the availability of mature, deployment-ready fibre solutions that are easy to manage, efficient, and scalable – stressing the urgent need for widespread fibre adoption to meet the rapidly evolving demands of next-generation broadcast systems.

A Legacy Reinforced by Vision

“In celebration of our 40th anniversary, we honour the lasting partnerships and collaborations that have fuelled our success and celebrate the new alliances that hold the promise of great prospects. Our focus, however, remains on enabling India’s technology community with access to the best global solutions and the engineering depth to support them,” concludes Gaurav Aggarwal. “Every milestone we achieve is a reflection of our commitment to our customers and partners. The journey continues — stronger, smarter, and more determined than ever.”
