Ayrton Launches Falconer Remote Followspot Control System

Published on 20th October, 2026

Falconer was born from a single ambition: to reinvent the art of followspotting, free the operator from its constraints and deliver unprecedented comfort.

It combines a broadcast-style fluid-head interface with camera-based control, featuring dual ergonomic handles, an 18.5-inch Full HD touchscreen, and customisable buttons and faders for direct access to key functions. Operators can control parameters including CMY, CTO, colour wheels, tint, dimmer, iris, zoom, focus, gobos and frost. User-defined presets can store combinations of settings and positions, complete with fade times and recall options.

The system delivers real-time response with smooth, precise tracking, complemented by an infrared mode that maintains visibility of performers in low-light environments.

A single Falconer base station can control multiple fixtures, with up to 36 active fixtures recommended for optimum performance. Its four-point 3D calibration system enables multiple luminaires to track the same performer in perfect synchronisation, whether operating independently or integrated with a lighting console.

Supporting the platform is Horus, a compact IP65-rated camera fixture housed within a MagicDot Neo-style enclosure. Weighing 6.7kg, it incorporates a 3.7MP CMOS sensor, 30x optical zoom, 65° field of view and NDI network video transmission. Remote adjustment of shutter, anti-flicker and colour settings can be carried out directly from Falconer. Independent camera and fixture positioning, combined with weather-resistant construction and operation from -20°C to 45°C, make Horus suitable for theatres, arenas, television studios and outdoor events.

Together, Falconer and Horus offer a scalable followspot solution that can function as a standalone system or integrate seamlessly into larger lighting control environments.
