AlphaTheta Announces Next Generation RMX IGNITE Effector for Professional DJ Applications

AlphaTheta’s RMX‑IGNITE brings a fully redesigned effects engine, enhanced tactile control, and advanced sampling workflows to modern DJ performance

Published on 22nd January, 2026

AlphaTheta has introduced the RMX‑IGNITE, a next‑generation effector developed as the successor to the RMX‑1000. More than a decade after the 2012 release of the RMX‑1000 – a unit still widely respected by professional DJs – the RMX‑IGNITE marks a complete redesign of the platform, combining advanced effects processing with expanded tactile control intended for contemporary performance environments.

Designed for integration into club systems, livestream rigs, and video‑led performance setups, the RMX‑IGNITE enables DJs to manipulate audio through levers, large‑format knobs, and enhanced sampling workflows. The upgraded audio architecture incorporates modern DSP and high‑grade converters to support high‑resolution output suitable for professional stages.

The RMX‑IGNITE is equipped with a 3‑Band FX section offering two independent effect types:

  • Lever FX – Three large levers allow immediate application of effects designed for abrupt, performance‑driven sound changes. Available effects include Echo, Reverb, Juggle, Reverse, Solo, and Stretch.
  • Isolate FX – Three large knobs provide smooth, frequency‑specific manipulation. Available effects include Tape Echo, Reverb, Drive, Filter, Ducker, and Rhythm.

Users may apply these effects independently to high, mid, and low frequency bands, combining up to six simultaneous effect types. Sub‑parameter knobs provide tonal shaping and progression control. The hardware interface prioritises visibility and physical feedback, ensuring that actions such as lever pushes and knob sweeps remain clear during live performance.

Enhanced Sampler Section

The integrated sampler includes 20 built‑in sounds sourced from Loopcloud and supports importing user samples via USB or through PRO DJ LINK‑connected players using the RMX‑IGNITE Sample Manager software. It features four Sample Trigger Pads with white LEDs for intuitive playback, with Overdub mode allowing users to record and loop 1‑bar phrases and layer multiple sounds. The Sample Roll section offers ten roll patterns, including the newly developed Groove Roll, which adds expressive variation by enabling the use of multiple roll buttons simultaneously. Additionally, the Sampler Colour FX section provides six effects—Echo, Space, Filter, Pitch, Decay, and Swing—controlled by a single knob and operating independently from the main 3‑Band FX section.

The Release Echo function enables an immediate reset of applied effects and samples, with Dry and Mute modes available to control transitions back to the original track. A multicolour screen provides clear visual feedback of sub‑parameters, sample status, BPM, input and output levels, and Sampler Colour FX, while also allowing direct browsing and selection of samples. The unit supports PRO DJ LINK for BPM and grid synchronisation with compatible CDJs and DJ players, ensuring accurate beat alignment during roll and overdub, and also enables sample loading via USB or SD media connected to linked players. For digital integration, the RMX‑IGNITE offers digital send/return compatibility with the DJM‑A9 and DJM‑V10 through a single USB cable, maintaining signal integrity, with full compatibility dependent on forthcoming firmware updates. Additional features include TS jack terminals for analogue connectivity and optional AlphaTheta Care extended warranty support. Its audio architecture incorporates 96 kHz / 64‑bit mixing DSP and 32‑bit ESS Technology A/D and D/A converters, with components tuned through extensive testing in real‑world club environments. A flat‑tuning approach preserves the character of the source audio, enabling detailed effect application without compromising natural sound quality.
