The event industry has been an extremely exciting place to be over the last few years, and the Fall of 2016 looks to be no different, with plenty of innovations lining up to expand and change the face of the industry. 2015 saw continued growth in the demand for events, something which could easily seduce event-holders into taking a “little and often” approach. So what makes this industry flourish year on year. The three C’s: context, content and creative. These are the keys to develop effective special events today. This includes the engagement of contractors, various types of paid staff and volunteers and how to create a favorable condition that ensures continuous commitments. Due to the dynamics of the event industry, the Human Resource Management requires special attention and consideration in the event context. The next is the content strategy and marketing for your events so that the customers keep coming back. The issue with any content strategy is time. The time to sit down and think about what kind of content should be created, time to stop and write, or record, edit and publish, and time to engage with your audience to promote the event you created. In order to save time one has to break down the content strategy for the event or conference you are planning step by step. Creating this process from scratch will take time, but once you have the content production foundation, you will save a lot of time and create more interest in attracting customers in your conference or event. The third ‘C’ is about being creative to this industry. A common denominator in event planning is creativity. Event planners should be remembered for their integrating originality and imagination into their events. Often times there is a boundary to the creativity, it may be a limited budget or a conservative theme that may intervene with your dash of personality. To conquer these, one should work on the finite components of the event such as title, invitations, venue, catering, and lighting, seating arrangements, stage designs, stage props, staff and entertainment to name a few. There are few biggies in the market playing as big event managers who has all the big events in their pockets and are giving results year on year. This industry will grow in India more as long as events connect people, breed innovation, build communities, and spark technologies.

The much awaited events of the year are lined up for the year end. One of the best-selling bands in the history of music, Coldplay will tour India this November (19TH NOVEMBER 2016). Comprising of crooner and front man Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, multi-instrumentalist and drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman, Coldplay have the backing of 6 previous world tours that were completely sold out. Wizcraft International will be managing and producing this concert at the MMRDA (BKC) in Mumbai on November 19. According to some sources the show will mainly feature 70 percent Indian artists. It is reported that Ranveer Singh, Arijit Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan, Shraddha Kapoor are a few names that are almost confirmed to perform at the event. Reportedly while most tickets to the concert will be free, a few will also be sold exclusively on its platform for INR 5000 and will then increase with each phase, subsequently hitting INR 15,000. Free tickets can be earned by signing up at the official Global Citizen website and completing a set of charitable campaigns.

One of the most anticipated music festivals in the Indian calendar, Bacardi NH7 Weekender, an annual, multi-city music festival in India will be back with its seventh edition with a bang. EVC--Enchanted Valley Carnival (EVC) will once again be hosted amongst the serenity of nature in one of the most exclusive cities in Asia at Aamby Valley City, being the first festival in Asia to be held on an airstrip. EVC introduced its sub property ‘Culinarium’ at the 2015 edition of the festival, which is a curated gastronomical experience. In 2015, Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company, announced a new partnership with Twisted Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., under which both parties have equal stakes in Enchanted Valley Carnival. The joint venture marked Universal Music Group South Asia’s debut in the experiential marketing space as the first label to participate in a venture of this kind. EVC 2016 establishes itself as the only multi genre music festival in India with no age barrier offering varied genres from electronic music to live genres across International Pop, Bollywood, EDM, techno, fusion and Indie along with other experimental music.

CALVIN HARRIS INDIA TOUR concert in Mumbai will be presented by Sunburn Festival. The event is also going to feature Justin Bieber as Calvin & Bieber is going to premiere their brand new track called ‘Sky is the Limit’ for the very first time in Mumbai!

The First-ever edition of the Vegas – Style festival, Electric Daisy Carnival will be held on 13th November’2016 at New Delhi with one of the largest line-ups of International and Indian artists ever witnessed in the country. A multidimensional music experience, EDC combines the world’s most renowned electronic music talent with mesmerizing production and sound design that is sure to overwhelm fans with its sheer scale, creativity and overall immersive experience. Since its inception in 1996, EDC has traveled to various venues across the United States (California, Florida, Nevada, and New York) as well as other countries including Mexico, the UK, and Brazil. The largest music festival in North America, EDC was dubbed the “American Ibiza” in 2010. EDC began as a one-day event in Los Angeles, welcoming a crowd of 5,000 dance music lovers in its first year. Over the past 20 years, EDC has grown into a global phenomenon, hosting over 400,000 fans over three days in Las Vegas this past June.

Winter is exciting for the music and concert lovers as the tier 1 and tier 2 cities will be bustling with the joy of music. The event planners and the partners should work on the three C’s (context, content and creative) and work on the finite components to make any event energizing and memorable.
